Student jazz combos to perform Dec. 2

Three Furman student jazz combos will present a concert Sunday, Dec. 2 at 8 p.m. in Daniel Recital Hall on campus.
The concert is free and open to the public.
The performance is conducted by music faculty members Matt Olson, Steve Watson and Keith Davis. They will lead students in music by Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, Wayne Shorter, John Coltrane, Chick Corea, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The selections are arranged by students.
Olson is Furman’s associate professor of saxophone and director of jazz studies. Jazz guitarist Watson is director of jazz studies at The Fine Arts Center in Greenville, and a lecturer at Furman. Jazz pianist Keith Davis teaches jazz piano at Furman and jazz piano improvisation at the Furman Summer Keyboard Institute.
