Dins Day Breaks Record

More gifts than ever were donated to Furman Dins Day, with contributions supporting more than 200 funds that provide scholarships and invest in The Furman Advantage; Academics; Wellness, Belonging and Community; Athletics; the Institutes and more.

Beth Pontari Named VP of Academic Affairs and Provost

Pontari was a key leader in developing The Furman Advantage and the underlying Pathways Program. She started her career at Furman in 2001 as an assistant professor of psychology. Her new role begins May. 1.

Caterisano to be inducted into National Wrestling HOF

Caterisano coached wrestling at Furman during the first seven years of his 40-year career at the university and saw Marty Fajerman ’91 crowned Southern Conference Champion. He'll be officially inducted into the Hall of Fame during a ceremony in Stillwater, Oklahoma, in late May.

LDOC captures media attention

The time-honored tradition celebrates the last day of classes at the university. Students and Furman's beloved Nancy Cooper spoke with reporters about the event, while another news station covered the festivities by helicopter.

Erin Hahn receives Jim Smart Award

The award, from Furman's Cothran Center, pays tribute to faculty and staff who help students add depth and meaning to the life decisions they make while in college.

U.S. Judge Thomas Cullen ’00 to Speak at Furman Commencement

As a U.S. attorney, Cullen oversaw prosecutions resulting from the August 2017 "Unite the Right" rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. He was appointed to the federal bench in September 2020.
