Furman accepting nominations for women leaders program
Furman University’s Center for Corporate and Professional Development is accepting nominations for “Connections: Women Leaders of the Upstate,” a program designed for women who have either demonstrated leadership abilities or who’ve been identified as possessing potential for leadership.
Since 1997, Furman has sponsored this premier leadership development program to bring women together to connect, take control of their careers, become stronger leaders and make significant contributions to their communities. Governed by an advisory board and selected from nominations, the class is limited in size and the networking potential is powerful.
Graduates of the Connections program include women who represent many facets of leadership—from community volunteerism to professional roles in a variety of businesses and industry. They are a diverse group by age, race and interest, but all have demonstrated leadership in their communities.
“Connections,” which meets at Furman, begins Jan. 14, 2014 with an evening orientation and kickoff presentation. The subsequent program features a luncheon and seminar series on issues confronted by women in leadership, and concludes Apr. 22 with an evening graduation dinner.
This year’s class will have the opportunity to participate in a 360-degree evaluation followed by a one-on-one coaching session to enhance their personal leadership style. Follow-up networking activities for program alumnae are also planned.
Tuition is $1,250, which includes professional development seminars, materials and meals.
To nominate someone for the program, please visit the Connections website. Nominations must be received by Nov. 19, and can be sent to Alison.firstname.lastname@example.org or by fax at (864) 294-3378.
